Hawaiian Honu House is a winner in so many ways. This updated home is fully air conditioned, with individual temperature controls for each bedroom. This is the perfect home for a relaxing vacation with family or friends. The large covered lanai, overlooking the pool and back yard, is perfect for indoor/outdoor living- Hawaiian style! Enjoy the ocean views and sunsets while relaxing on the lanai or around the pool.

You will love the almost 50-foot long private salt water swimming pool with ocean views. Plenty of space for lounging around the pool or in the water on the broad steps into the pool. The children will love the shallow play area beside the steps. The pool is safely separated from the large grassy yard with a fence. The hammock is a great place for a nap.

This 3-bedroom 2-bathroom home has cal-king size beds in the Master bedroom and in the Lanai bedroom. The 3rd bedroom has extra-long twin beds that can be made into a king size bed, if requested and for a fee. The en-suite master bath features a claw foot soaking tub in addition to the walk-in shower and double vanity. The shared second bathroom has a walk-in shower.

The beautiful kitchen has everything your chef will need to prepare delicious meals for you to enjoy outdoors on the lanai or in the dining room.

This solar powered home is located in quiet Kahakai Estates, a gated neighborhood just a few minutes from downtown Kailua Kona.

I stayed in this great home for 10 days with my husband, sister and brother-in-law. I was racing the Ironman so I wanted a home with AC, a great location, and one that was comfortable and relaxing. This home had it all!

Our family of 3 has been visiting Kona for the past 10 years and renting various condos with an ocean view. This year we thought we'd rent a house with a pool, even if it wasn't right on the ocean. Best decision we've made! The saltwater pool was a great way to start and end the day, and you can still see the ocean from the beautiful lanai. The house is tastefully decorated and the grounds are so beautiful. We couldn't wait to come home after our daily excursions. We got to eat a few meals at home, and even grilled on the lanai. The kitchen had everything we needed, and if not, Longs Drugs or Safeway was nearby. There was a storm for 2 days when the beaches were closed, but it wasn't a problem because we had the saltwater pool surrounded by beautiful foliage, so we didn't feel like we missed out on water play at all. Out of all the years we've been back, this was the most relaxing vacation on the Big Island we've had because of this beautiful home and we can't wait to stay in it again. It was like we had our own private oasis. Thank you!

Great Vacation Location

A short drive to Kailua-Kona, this was a great location. The house is in a very nice community and was exactly as pictured. The pool is unheated, but was warm enough to swim daily. Our two young granddaughters played everyday in the shallow end. And no worries, the pool was fenced so they were not able to enter it alone. We cooked some of our meals at home and the kitchen was stocked well. had a fantastic vacation and Michelle at Kona Coast Vacations was very helpful, even meeting us at the house to show us around. This is an incredible house and VERY well appointed! I was impressed with the fact they had so many kitchen items (never seen a slow cooker in a rental before!). The house is comfortable, very clean, nice furnishings and the landscape is gorgeous. We will definitely be back!

We truly enjoyed our stay in this home. There were four of us and plenty of room both in the house, on the patio and around the pool. The mattresses were excellent so everyone had great sleeps. The rental was well equipped, with the exception of the towels which we felt were scratchy and needed replacing. Also, a beautifully decorated home in a great location. Very central to everything in the heart of Kona in a gated community. We would definitely stay in this home again!

Our family has been renting vacation homes both here and on Oahu for several years now and this house has been the best by far! This is the first time I have ever rated a vacation rental as "exceptional" but in this case it fits the bill. When we first arrived, we found everything very clean and neat. Everything was as pictured and even better. The pool was great! We went for a swim everyday to cool off from the hot Kona weather. Lots of pool toys to use for your kids. The outside patio was a fun gathering place for everyone, and we made good use of the BBQ grill too. The yard was also very enjoyable to walk around in. The landscaping was beautiful with many fruit trees and fragrant flowers to see and smell. There were pikake, plumeria, and tiare flowers. The vendors they use for the pool, and landscaping are top notch too. The furnishings are nice and comfortable. The beds were comfortable as well and we were able to get a good nights rest on them. There towels well stocked and there was more than enough for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook complete meals. And this time we even got to use the garage to park our car. This is a very quiet, private neighborhood that's gated so you feel safe as well. The only thing that could have made it better would be an additional ac unit for the living room. Kona does get warm in the summer. Other than that, I highly recommend this rental for anyone that wants to stay in Kona. Shopping and dining is just 5-10 minutes away Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Age 55+, Families with Teenagers

This property is fantastic. Beautiful and a great location. The home is beautifully decorated, but totally comfortable. We never got out of the pool, it's wonderful. It was a perfect vacation getaway for all of us.

Of all the properties we have rented through VRBO and AIRB&B, this is the best one. It doesn't feel like a rental; it feels like we are staying in someone's gracious home. It is decorated beautifully with art pieces in most rooms. The kitchen is fully stocked, not just a small amount of dishes, utensils and pans. The view is beautiful, so great to have such a clear view of the ocean. And the pool is fantastic. Our grandchildren, two and four, live close by and loved the pool, plenty of room to play. Beautiful setting and private yard. And the pool area is separated from the main yard and lanai by an iron fence and gate. Very safe for kids. We hope to return again soon, and will plan our trip around availability of this house. Date of Stay: 11/13/17 to 11/27/17

Start to finish, very nice experience. Beautiful house in a very quiet gated community. Great view of the ocean. Easy access to town and beaches. We had almost perfect weather and the location was central for our excursions. Pool as a little cool at first, but warmed up. Cloudy weather affects the hot water tank, but was easily switched over to electric. The house had everything we needed including umbrellas for the beach.

What can I say? Everything was perfect! The home was clean, classy and extremely well appointed with everything we needed to relax. We did cook several meals at the house and found everything we needed. The home owners should be commended for providing a truly superior experience. Kona Coast Vacations, the rental management company, was THE MOST PROFESSIONAL management company I have ever worked with.

The house is as pictured and was absolutely perfect for a family group which included 6 and 9 year old children and grandma. Convenient access through the garage with a hose nearby for keeping sand out of the house. All the furnishings were top quality as were the decorations. Location is great for beaches and trips to anywhere on the island. The large pool is beautiful and well maintained with very comfortable outside furniture. The erupting volcano created some vog in the Kona area but it did not bother us....we found blue skies and sun by traveling a bit north. A predawn trip to see the lava flow by boat was amazing . Fairwinds does a great night snorkel with the Manta Rays and Kona Coast Vacations, which manages the property, was great to deal with both before and during our stay. If asked for any way in which this rental home could be improved, I would suggest a shop vac in the garage for cleaning the inevitable sand collection out of the car. This review is from a frequent renter of family vacation properties and I will say that Hawaiian Honu house is amomg the best.

We have stayed in this location twice and it is such an oasis. Our son, his wife and two grandchildren were with us. While there are many sights to see on the island, the yard and pool were great for the children! The home is beautifully furnished, clean. Having the master on one end of the house and the two bedrooms on the other gave great separattion. Nice quiet neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again when we return to the Big Island!

Had a wonderful stay at the Honu House from Kona Coast Vacations. The interior was top notch and the grounds & pool immaculate. The house sits on a hill and has a view of the Pacific. A short walk down a pig path and you will see an amazing sunset. If ever on the Big Island, consider using KCV. David (concierge) was also a big help scheduling horse ride, kayaking, and suggesting other sightseeing adventures.

Enjoyed our stay here away from the busy beach front. Easy drive to White Sands Beach that has free parking! You can walk down to Alii Drive via a path which is easy. This family of 6 adults had plenty of space to make lasting memories!

Everything about this property was perfect! Very clean, great location, and spacious. The fenced in yard from the pool was just what we needed with two young kids. The pool was incredible with a shallow area for my one year old and deep area for my husband and four year old to do cannon balls. We had an issue with the grill and the management company brought us a new one right away! Loved everything about this house and will be back in the future.
